Member Engagement and Special Events Coordinator

The Member Engagement and Special Events Coordinator is essential for enhancing the experiences of our chamber shareholders. This role focuses on identifying and addressing member needs, promoting engagement, and supporting retention efforts. The coordinator will implement our retention strategy and oversee event planning and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Retention Management:
    • Schedule and conduct monthly meetings with designated member contacts.
    • Address member inquiries, concerns, and issues, connecting them with appropriate resources.
    • Communicate the chamber’s annual Business Plan and encourage member participation in relevant programs and events.
  • Record Maintenance and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with the President/CEO to contact members 90 days past due, documenting interactions and outcomes.
  • Member Communication:
    • Promote upgrades for members to higher benefit levels where appropriate.
    • Represent the chamber at external membership events.
  • Event Coordination:
    • Plan and manage key chamber events, including:
      • Professional Women’s Alliance
      • Monthly Wake Up Breakfast
      • Ribbon Cuttings
      • Live @ 5
      • Coffee and Contacts
      • Major events such as the Golf Tournament, IWD Soiree, Annual Gala, Workplace Wellness, and Family Fun Run.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective member interactions.
  • Ability to generate leads and schedule appointments independently.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Collaborative team player who contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and CRM software.
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in event management and member relations; nonprofit experience is preferred.
  • Experience with live and/or silent auctions is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, reach, bend, lift, or climb for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Performance Appraisal:

  • The position includes a 90-day probationary period, followed by a formal evaluation to assess goal achievement and performance. Additional evaluations may be conducted as necessary by the President/CEO.

Note: This position will not be filled until January 2025.
